DATE:                         TUESDAY, 3IST JANUARY 2023

TITLE:                        CCA SUSTAINABILITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

CATEGORY:            CORPORATE SUSTAINABILITY

Corporate Organisations are set to participate in the CCA SUSTAINABILITY GOLF TOURNAMENT, on the 3rd February 2023 at Muthaiga Golf Club.  Some of the organisations vying for the 4-ball Sustainability Championship include EABL, KCB Bank Group, Minet, Unga Group, and others. This event intends to increase awareness and effective adoption of sustainability in Corporate Africa.

During the press briefing at Muthaiga Golf Club, Sheida Mutuku, the CEO of Woodside Africa Group, and founder of Corporate Citizens of Africa (CCA), remarked, ‘Corporate Sustainability is a Goldmine. It is the only known current framework that holds the singular power to deliver exponential business growth in these tumultuous times. The only price to pay is to re-face organisations towards purpose..’

She added, ‘Mainstreaming Corporate Sustainability will sow the seeds of Africa’s prosperity. And this can only be brought to fruition by purpose-led organisations that fully embrace social-driven economic growth, underlined by formidable environmental stewardship.’

During the briefing, Judith Sidi-Odhiambo, the Head of Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Director at KCB Bank group remarked, ‘KCB is a strong advocate for sports and has been actively involved in sporting events, sponsoring teams and affording them chances to compete at different levels. We are reinforcing a heart and spirit in Kenyan sports while contributing to its development. Golf for instance has for hundreds of years given rise to social and environmental benefits. At a time when sustainability is a critical global priority, continuing and improving on this tradition is now more important than ever. I believe that this golf event will provide a great platform to showcase sustainability and its correlation to sports.’

Corporate Citizens of Africa (CCA), is a Pan-African sustainability program that urges Africa’s business leaders to be Architects of a Better World. This is as they strive to build world-class organizations right here in Africa. The program also encourages Corporate Africa taking charge of the continent’s Sustainability Agenda.
