It is true that we have had a fantastic experience on the fairways, and I am confident that everyone has loved today’s tournament. The CCA organizers did a fantastic job planning a golf tournament to promote corporate sustainability among African businesses, and I’m happy that we all joined together to further this goal. For the corporate partners that came in today, thank you for making this event a success. ‘
He further added, ‘I believe that it’s by mainstreaming sustainability in our corporate operations that we will be able to drive social, economic and environmental impact in the regions we operate. In addition, we stand to improve our brand’s reputation, luring in more like-minded investors and clients and fostering the expansion and profitability of our businesses.’
In winding up the Awards Ceremony, Sheida quoted the late Bob Collymore who said, ‘A prosperous Africa is one where we get back to our core. Our core of caring for the world around us…our core of caring for the ecosystems…our core of caring for our brothers and our sisters. That’s all we need to do. No more. That’s what we’ve always done, and that’s what we need to get back to.’
