The various Nomination Categories are as follows:

Sports Category

In this category we recognize our young sports men and women from all over the world; who hold high Africa’s torch in ‘ALL THINGS SPORTS’. Through sheer discipline, determination, hard work and a ‘never give up attitude’… they have reached the pinnacle (or are on a sure path to reaching the pinnacle) of their sports career and continue to inspire the youth all over the world to excel in sports.

Humanitarian Category

In this category, we celebrate the selfless humanitarian efforts of individuals who have made the lives of others better, fuller and richer with meaning. They have reached out, served, and improved fellow African’s circumstances. She/he is the champion of their cause and creates positive social change by increasing equality for all. The nominee may serve as a volunteer or pioneer, whether individually or as part of an organization.

Artists Category

In this category we recognize the filmmakers, actors, radio and TV entertainers, musicians artists, authors and all those individuals who contribute towards arts, culture and heritage. These people have contributed to the growth and success of others by applying their personal talents and convictions and have set a standard of passion, truth, spirit and commitment. Their stories are inspiring, controversial, courageous, passionate and purposeful.

Entrepreneur Category

In this category we recognize individuals who have turned their vision into a thriving business enterprise. In so doing, the nominee has developed a sustainable business that provides employment for others or has enabled/inspired others to become entrepreneurs. She/he is a leader and inspiration to others and has made a commendable contribution to the entrepreneurship arena.

Business Icon Category (Those in Formal Employment)

In this category we recognize individuals who have distinguished themselves in academic work, career, leadership or public service development. The nominee has made a positive impact through his/her on going commitment to the business community as a role model, mentor or champion. The nominee is a leader and inspiration to others and has made a commendable contribution to the corporate arena as an employee.
