MANAGING DIRECTOR 

JOB DESCRIPTION

WOODSIDE AFRICA GROUP LLC is seeking a highly driven, results-oriented and conscientious Managing Director to join the leadership team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business operations and ensuring the achievement of growth and performance targets. This role reports to the Group Chief Executive Officer.

Managing Director Duties

  • Develop and execute the company’s sustainability-based strategic plan, in partnership with the CEO.
  • Achieve set business growth and performance targets – including financial, social and environmental objectives – across the various business divisions and subsidiaries.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate staff to foster a culture that reflects the company values including high performance, innovation and conscientiousness.
  • Create, expand and strengthen a strong business and organisation ecosystem.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal, regulatory and governance requirements across jurisdictions.
  • Expand the company’s physical footprint in identified countries and geographies.
  • Understand the nuances of sustainable business practices; and the effective application of the same.
  • Analyze market trends and competition to stay abreast of industry developments and recommend strategies to remain competitive.

 

Managing Director Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field
  • Proven track record of successfully managing a business and achieving financial targets
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Sound knowledge of business strategy, financial management, and operations management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Experience in negotiating and closing deals
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of employees, customers, partners, and suppliers
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, creatively, and decisively
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
